HIV Programs for transgender people

On July 12, 2018, Rena Janamnuaysook, a Program Coordinator at PREVENTION was invited to share the lesson learned from Tangerine Community Health Center at the sixth webinar in the webinar series entitled Key Populations: Evidence in Action hosted by the USAID- and PEPFAR- supported LINKAGES project.

The webinar series aim to share evidence and promising practices for achieving greater impact on the HIV epidemic through programs for key populations – sex workers, men who have sex with men, people who inject drugs and transgender people. The sixth webinar, in particular, explored the needs for HIV programming for transgender people, as well as examined the strategic information needed to effectively plan and monitor trans-specific program. The webinar also featured the different trans- competent approaches to HIV programming that show the improvement of service uptake across the cascade in Thailand and South America.
