This five-year study’s goal is to develop proper long-term management guidelines for people living with HIV (PLHIV) in Thailand targeted at preventable conditions such as metabolic disease and certain cancers. The information obtained from this study will be very important in planning future holistic care of HIV-infected patients in the institutes as well as in national policy.
A total of 816 Thai volunteers participated the study. There are 408 HIV-infected patients with and without ART, and 408 HIV negative patients from the Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre and Queen Savang Memorial Hospital Institute during January 2010 - December 2014. The volunteers are both male and female over 30 years old.
